Well beyond 14 days subsequent to the heartbreaking passing of esteemed film director Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, the entertainment community are still paying respects to the pair.
Quoting a Classic: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director
Writing on social media, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, explained he only now felt prepared to express about his profound loss.
"Adequate time has passed that I can finally articulate my loss into words," wrote Elwes, adding that his introductory moment with Reiner created an instant bond. "As we began sharing more moments together I understood this was someone I longed to have in my life."
The actor posted archival material from the film, adding that he could not remember "any day without mirth".
"The movie is about affection, allegiance and giving. Principles that Rob cherished deeply. This is one of the many reasons he was the best person to direct it," Elwes expressed.
He additionally honored Michele Reiner, saying: "To say that they were a formidable pair would be an oversimplification. My heart still aches every time I remember you." He ended with a line from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."
Martin Scorsese Remembers a Fellow Artist
In a different tribute, revered director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.
"Right away, I loved being with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was hilarious and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese shared.
Scorsese highlighted Reiner's supporting role in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the protagonist.
"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked beautifully with everyone, and he grasped the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese wrote.
Judicial Actions: Autopsy Reports Sealed
In a new development, a Los Angeles court official agreed to prevent the publication of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, following a petition from the LAPD.
A court order placed a restriction on the investigation to prohibit the public release of "any investigative information, notes, reports or photos" associated with the ongoing investigation.
The relevant authority had previously confirmed their deaths were the result of foul play, with a official listing citing the cause as "injuries from a sharp object".

Ex-President Donald Trump posted on the matter, providing provocative statements that were broadly criticized by many commentators.
Podcaster Joe Rogan contributed his voice to the detractors last week. Conversing on his podcast, Rogan labeled the statements as "disappointing" and suggested they revealed a concerning absence of compassion.
Rogan ended by suggesting that an associate should have stepped in when the decision to speak on the death was made.
